Create your first project

A project is the container where your geospatial data lives: vector layers, raster, LiDAR point clouds, permissions and geoportals. Let’s create the first one.
Before you start
You need an active account and belong to a workspace. If you don’t have one yet, follow the guide Create your account and workspace.

Free plan. You can create projects and viewers with a free plan; the usage multiplier only limits GB, compute, AI, geoportals and users — not the number of projects.
Create the project
- 1In the main panel, click the New project button (top right).
- 2Give it a descriptive name and, optionally, a description and a client tag.
- 3Choose the project’s default coordinate system (you can reproject layers later).
- 4Set the visibility: private (your team only) or with a public geoportal.
- 5Click Create. The project opens empty, ready to upload data.
Project structure
Each project is organized into three areas you’ll see in the project’s own sidebar:
- Layers — your vector, raster and LiDAR data, groupable into folders.
- Geoportals — viewers published from the layers, public or private.
- Team & permissions — who has access and with what role (read, edit, admin).
